What this is

The Golden Version phones a person once a week with one question about their life, records their answers, and turns them into written stories on a private page for the person who gave the gift. It is a keepsake service. It is not a legal, medical or historical record.

Paying

You pay once, upfront, for a package. Each package covers a number of weekly questions. Prices are listed on our pricing page when you buy. If the person you are giving the gift to declines before the first call, we will refund the gift in full. You may also ask for a full refund within 30 days if no call has been made. After that, payments are not refundable, because the calls are made and recorded.

Asking first

The person receiving the gift must reply YES to our text before they are called. They may stop at any time by replying STOP or pressing 9 on a call. You promise that you will tell them about the gift, and that you have their correct mobile number.

Calls

We call between 10am and 7pm in their time zone, try up to three times, and do not leave voicemail. We do not promise that every call will connect, because phones, networks and people are beyond our control. A week that is missed does not count against the package.

The stories

We use speech-to-text and AI to write each answer up from the recording. It may make mistakes, such as a misheard name or word. You can correct the written story on your page, and the original recording is kept. We are not responsible for what a person says in their answers.

Who owns it

The stories and recordings belong to the storyteller and their family. You give us permission to store, process and show them as the service requires, and nothing more. We do not publish them or use them to train AI.

Keeping the service running

We intend to keep the stories available for as long as the page is in use. If we ever must close, we will give notice, give you a way to save everything, and refund the unused part of your package to the extent we are able.

Limits

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid, and we are not liable for indirect or emotional damages. Some places do not allow these limits, so they apply only as far as the law permits.
