What we keep

From the person giving the gift: name and email. From the person receiving it: first name, mobile number, time zone and the day and time they like to be called. The weekly questions, a recording of each answer, a written version of each answer, and a record of our calls and texts.

Why

Only to ask the weekly question, record and write up the answers, show them on the private page, and run the service. We do not sell anyone's information. We do not use recordings or stories to train AI models or to imitate anyone's voice.

Who sees it

The person who gave the gift, and anyone they share the private link with. Staff at The Golden Version may look at a story only to fix a problem or answer a question. Service providers handle parts of the work under their own privacy terms: payments (Stripe), phone calls and texts (Twilio), speech-to-text and AI writing services, email, hosting and databases.

Asking first

Before any call, we send the storyteller one text and wait for YES. If they reply STOP, or press 9 on a call, we stop and never contact them again. We keep only what we need to remember that.

Analytics

On our public pages (home, pricing, questions and legal pages) we use Google Analytics and Plausible to count visits and see which pages are used. They receive the page address without any query string, your browser and device type, and an approximate location. Plausible uses no cookies; Google Analytics may set cookies. Advertising features and ad personalization are turned off. Your private page, the stories, recordings and the names and numbers entered are never sent to either tool.

The private link

The private page has no password. The link in your email is the key. Anyone who has it can read and listen to the stories, so share it only with people you trust. If it leaks, write to us and we will issue a new one.

Your choices

You can delete any story or recording from your page. You can also ask us to delete everything, including the account, by writing to hello@thegoldenversion.com. The storyteller can stop the calls at any time.

Keeping and deleting

We keep stories and recordings for as long as the page is in use, and delete them within a reasonable time after you ask. We keep basic records of calls and payments for as long as the law or a dispute may require.

Security

Data is stored with a reputable cloud host and sent over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise it.
